🖌️ Handcrafted in Japan, the Birthplace of Judo
Each piece, from the calligraphy to the finished kakemono scroll, is individually handcrafted in Japan over approximately three weeks using traditional techniques. Because every work is created by hand, the brushwork may vary slightly from the sample photos, making your set truly one of a kind.
🥋 Two Artworks, One Philosophy
The Duo Set brings together Seiryoku Zenyo (精力善用) and Jita Kyoei (自他共栄), Jigoro Kano’s two guiding principles, in a balanced two-piece display. Together, they bring the philosophy and spirit of Judo into any home or dojo.
Jigoro Kano’s Two Guiding Principles
精力善用 (Seiryoku Zenyo) — Use Your Energy for Good
Use your physical and mental abilities not only in Judo, but for the good of society as well.
精力 (Seiryoku): Physical and Mental Energy
The full potential of one's body, mind, and abilities.
善用 (Zenyo): Use for Good
To use that energy wisely, effectively, and for the benefit of society.
自他共栄 (Jita Kyoei) — Mutual Welfare and Benefit
Build mutual trust and support one another so that everyone can prosper together and contribute to a better society.
自他 (Jita): Self and Others
Recognizing that our lives and success are connected with those around us.
共栄 (Kyoei): Prospering Together
Growing, supporting, and flourishing together for the benefit of all.
For Judoka Who Walk the Lifelong Path of Judo
Beyond matches, Judo becomes a lifelong discipline. This Duo Set is created for judoka who continue to walk that path.
Displayed in your home or dojo, these kakemono scrolls keep Jigoro Kano’s philosophy close — a daily reminder to use your energy wisely, respect and support others, and keep growing in Judo and in life.
More than decoration, this Duo Set becomes your “Silent Teacher,” always by your side.
